House of the Week: ‘Distinctive’ East Syracuse home has three fireplaces, two bars, five bedrooms, and gardens

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. – It was of all things earthquake insurance which brought Dale Sargent to her home of 32 years.

The previous owner of the five-bedroom, three-bathroom house at 6790 Fremont Road in East Syracuse thought she needed the protection and called Sargent's husband, Charles, an insurance agent at the time, to get a quote.
